Fellows and Postdoctoral Program

McGovern Fellows

The McGovern Fellows program supports outstanding young scientists who are likely to shape the future of brain research. The program is an alternative to the traditional postdoctoral training period, and provides exceptional, recent PhD graduates with the resources to establish an independent research program. This enables them to concentrate fully on exploring and developing their scientific ideas. Fellows are given full access to cutting-edge brain research technologies at the McGovern Institute and throughout MIT, and the freedom to pursue novel ideas about the brain across multiple disciplines.

Omar Abudayyeh and Jonathan Gootenberg are the inaugural McGovern Fellows.

Postdoctoral Fellows

Postdoctoral fellows and associates are appointed through individual faculty advisors. They are an important part of the McGovern community, pushing forward science in their respective fields. They work with our faculty, honing their scientific and mentorship skills, preparing them to advance toward tenure-track positions at major universities or significant research positions in industry. Researchers interested in postdoctoral positions at the McGovern Institute should contact our faculty directly.
